Which menu-options are available (vegetarian/allergies)?

While our standard menu features classic Viennese specialties, vegetarian alternatives are available for all tours. We invite you to share any dietary restrictions or allergies (such as gluten-free) during the booking process, allowing our chefs to tailor the menu to your needs.

What are the conditions for cancellations or rescheduling bookings?

Re-bookings: For your personal maximum flexibility, re-bookings or changes of your experience are free of charge up to 24 hours prior to the event.

Cancellations: Cancelling your experience is of course possible at any time under the consideration of our current General Terms and Conditions - you can find them here .

What is the difference between a Riding Dinner experience and a traditional horse-drawn-carriage ride in Vienna?

A traditional Fiaker ride is a sightseeing tour through the narrow streets of Vienna and its historic city center. With the Riding Dinner concept, however, we transform the carriage into an exclusive space for a world-unique experiential gastronomy adventure.

In our specially modified carriages—equipped with custom-built tables and specially developed glass holders—you can enjoy high-end classic Viennese cuisine while you ride. From an aperitif to a full three-course meal, your experience even includes a professional butler service from the coach box.

How many guests can fit in one Fiaker carriage?

Fiaker carriages are built for 4 adults. In addition to that you maybe can seat 1-2 small children in elementary school age between the adults or on their laps. Bookings with more than 4 adults require a second carriage in any case.

Guests right next to the coachman's seat are not allowed at all, especially without any special training for carriage driving.

What is the temperature maximum carriages are allowed to operate in Vienna?

Fiaker Rides & Heat Regulation: What You Need to Know

In Vienna, the welfare of our horses is a top priority. Therefore, strict legal regulations apply to the operation of horse-drawn carriages (Fiakers) on hot summer days. Here is how the 35-degree rule works and what it means for your booking.

The Statutory "Heat-Off" Regulation for Fiakers

According to the Vienna Fiaker Operating Regulations, a strict temperature limit applies to all carriage horses to ensure their well-being:

Maximum Temperature: Once the temperature reaches 35° Celsius (95° Fahrenheit), operating horse-drawn carriages with guests is legally prohibited.
Immediate Service Stop: As soon as this limit is reached, all carriages must leave the Vienna city center and return to their stables immediately.
No Evening Rides: Once the 35-degree threshold has been hit, no further rides are permitted for the rest of the day—even if temperatures drop below 35°C later in the evening.

What Happens to My Riding Dinner Booking?

If your booked experience cannot take place due to the heat regulation, we offer full flexibility and peace of mind:

Rescheduling: We will work with you to find an alternative date for your culinary carriage tour.
Full Refund: If a follow-up date is not possible for you, we will, of course, provide a 100% refund of the costs paid for your Riding Dinner.
Voucher Option: Alternatively, your booking can be converted into a gift voucher to be used at a later time.

Note: We monitor weather forecasts closely and will inform you as early as possible if the heat regulation is likely to affect your tour.

Does my horse-drawn-carriage ride also take place during bad weather or on a rainy day?

Yes, our horse-drawn carriages are generally available year-round, 365 days a year. Exceptions are extreme weather conditions. In such cases, we will contact you promptly and inform you about possible alternatives. Under particularly critical weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel the carriage ride. Should this occur, you will, of course, receive a 100% refund of the amount paid.

Why rain or bad weather won't affect your carriage ride with us: All our carriages are weatherproof and function like convertibles. The carriages have closable roofs and windows on multiple sides, protecting you from wind, rain, or snow – switching from an open to a closed carriage, or vice versa, can be done on-site within seconds. Especially during the colder months, we provide warm, cozy blankets and special seasonal offers for added comfort and a unique carriage experience.
